How are factors such as language, religion or cultural heritage related in the context of minority Migration?
Many people leave their homeland because they are persecuted and oppressed as minorities. By immigrating into a society that is new to them, they also become a minority in a foreign country. A new level is added to the level of linguistic, religious, ethnic and cultural identity in the country of origin. The LOEWE priority area "Minority Studies: Language and Identity" will explore this topic. The project pursues an interdisciplinary approach in the fields of language, history and Society.
