“Knowledge versus opinion” is the title of the ProLOEWE science simulation game with which three LOEWE projects will be visiting schools in Hesse from June 24

The LOEWE center DRUID and the LOEWE research areas Minority Studies and Whitebox have developed a science simulation game together with ProLOEWE and science birds, with which they are visiting Hessian schools in the last three weeks before the summer vacations under the title “Knowledge versus Opinion”. The start was on Monday, 24th of June, 2024 at the Oswald-von-Nell-Breuning-Schule in Rödermark.

“The idea of the simulation game was born in these turbulent times, in which we are facing major challenges worldwide. Our main aim is to teach students the importance of critical thinking and the classification of reputable sources and to raise their awareness of how to recognize false information, including in the area of social media,” say the LOEWE researchers and science communicators about their joint project.

On a total of almost ten dates before the summer vacations, Hessian schoolchildren will be introduced to the importance of science and democracy in a fun way, focusing on various topics such as minority studies, artificial intelligence and research into neglected and poverty-associated tropical diseases. Dates have already been set in Rödermark, Niederwalgern, Haiger and Kassel.
