Prof. Dr. Anke Becker elected new deputy ProLOEWE spokeswoman

During the ProLOEWE Board of Directors meeting on November 12, 2021, Prof. Dr. Anke Becker was elected the new deputy spokeswoman for the network of LOEWE research projects ProLOEWE. Anke Becker succeeds Prof. Dr. Stefan Böhm, who has held the office for the past few years. Becker was spokeswoman for the LOEWE center SYNMIKRO from 2010 to 2018 and is currently co-spokeswoman for the LOEWE focus MOSLA. Anke Becker studied biology at the University of Bielefeld, Germany. She received her doctorate in the laboratory of Prof. Alfred Pühler at the University of Bielefeld in the field of microbial genetics. Since 2016, Prof. Anke Becker has been the director of SYNMIKRO, the research center that emerged from the LOEWE Center at the Philipps University of Marburg in cooperation with the Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology. Becker has been a member of the DFG review board since 2020.
