How can personalized cancer therapy for children be improved through innovative sensor technology and trustworthy AI? This is the question addressed by the LOEWE Research Cluster MultiDrug-TDM, which has been funded since January 2026. In early June 2026, scientists and clinicians gathered for the project's onboarding week held at TU Darmstadt and the sites of other partners – to exchange ideas on current research approaches and to expand and intensify cross-site collaboration.

Doctoral candidates, postdocs, and project leaders from all disciplines and institutions involved in LOEWE-MultiDrug-TDM discussed the collaborative project's scientific goals and individual sub-projects, while also developing shared perspectives for future research.

In addition to the scientific program, the agenda included laboratory tours at TU Darmstadt and insights into the research infrastructure at the GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research, the Fraunhofer Institute for Translational Medicine and Pharmacology (ITMP), and the Children's Hospital at Goethe University Frankfurt.

The onboarding week was rounded off by personal interaction, cross-site networking, and a better understanding of shared goals and challenges – together forming a solid foundation for successful collaboration within the LOEWE Research Cluster MultiDrug-TDM.
