The second international symposium of the LOEWE research project PriOSS "Principles of On-Surface Synthesis" took place at Rauischholzhausen Castle from May 20 to 22, 2025. Over the three days of the symposium, around 60 participants discussed their current research findings in the field of surface-based synthesis. This is a multidisciplinary field that brings together physicists, chemists and materials scientists.

The program included 15 presentations by internationally renowned speakers from universities and research institutes from seven European countries as well as China and Japan. The program was accompanied by presentations from the PriOSS consortium and 25 poster contributions. In addition to new strategies for the design of organic nanomaterials with unique electronic, optical and magnetic properties, new characterization methods were presented.

During the three-day symposium in the historic atmosphere of Rauischholzhausen Castle, participants were able to engage in exciting scientific discussions and generate new ideas for future joint projects.
