Dr. Deise Knob presents scientific results from LOEWE-GreenDairy at the Öko-Feldtage at Wassergut Canitz near Leipzig.

On June 18 and 19, this year's Öko-Feldtage took place at Wassergut Canitz near Leipzig - a nationwide showcase for organic farming and a platform for exchange between research, practice and agriculture. The LOEWE project GreenDairy was also represented with its own contribution.

The focus was on the presentation of current research results by Dr. Deise Knob from Justus Liebig University Giessen (JLU). At the GreenDairy stand, she presented the latest findings on the comparison of low-input and high-input feeding systems for organically reared dairy cows. The studies are based on data from the Gladbacherhof, JLU's teaching and experimental farm for organic farming.

The aim of the research is to find out how different feeding strategies influence animal health, milk yield, resource efficiency and environmental impact. The results should help farmers to make informed decisions for sustainable milk production in organic farming. The focus was also on aspects such as climate protection, nutrient cycles and animal welfare.

Visitors to the Organic Field Days showed great interest in the GreenDairy results and took the opportunity to engage in intensive discussions with the scientific community.
