Prof. Florian Greten and Prof. Hubert Serve from LOEWE-FCI are taking the opportunity of 120 years of cancer research in Frankfurt to host the FRANKFURT CANCER CONFERENCE 2026 from September
The conference is dedicated to the future of precision medicine and – with its motto "Translating PE’s Magic Bullet into Novel Targeted Therapies" – references Paul Ehrlich's theory of the magic bullet. This concept is also considered the origin of chemotherapy, as it was the first to describe the targeted and systematically tested use of a chemical compound as a medication. Today, the term chemotherapy is predominantly used for systemic therapies in oncology.
The Frankfurt Cancer Conference program features a top-class international panel of speakers and covers the entire spectrum of cancer research, from basic research to clinical translation. Particular emphasis is placed on the topics of tumor microenvironment, immunotherapies, and the development of innovative drugs.
