With the ceremonial opening of the new Fraunhofer ITMP building in Frankfurt am Main begins a new chapter for Hessian health research – origins in the LOEWE Center TMP

At today's formal opening of the new building of the Fraunhofer Institute for Translational Medicine and Pharmacology (ITMP) on the campus of the University Medical Center Frankfurt, around 200 representatives from politics, science, and industry celebrated together.
State-of-the-art infrastructure on more than 8,000 m² for the research areas of drug discovery, preclinical research, and clinical research – thus truly strengthening Hesse as a location for pharmaceuticals and biotech. Boris Rhein, minister-president of the State of Hesse, and numerous other guests from science and politics emphasized the special significance of the project for the research and innovation landscape. Rhein proudly expressed, "[...] the fact that we are standing here today is also proof of how important and relevant the state of Hesse's support for science is, because the Fraunhofer ITMP emerged from a LOEWE Center funded by the state, [...]." Furthermore Prof. Dr. Axel Müller-Groeling (Executive Board, Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft) and Prof. Dr. Dr. Gerd Geißlinger (Managing Director, Fraunhofer ITMP) provided interesting insights and perspectives on the development of the construction, the research and the significance of the new building.
