Emmy Noether funding of around two million euros for Dr. Sebastian Scheich: LOEWE-FCI scientist researches aggressive form of lymphoma.

Dr. Sebastian Scheich, a scientist at LOEWE-FCI, will receive approximately two million euros in funding over six years as part of the German Research Foundation's (DFG) Emmy Noether Programme, which supports outstanding scientists in the early stages of their careers. He and his research group conduct their work at the Department II of Internal Medicine at Frankfurt University Hospital as an "Advanced Clinician Scientist."
His research focuses on diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), an aggressive form of lymphoma, that affects approximately 6,000 people in Germany each year. This type of cancer exhibits various genetic variants, leading to highly variable treatment outcomes and prognoses. Dr. Scheich and his team are investigating which cellular signaling networks control the growth and survival of the cancer cells. Their goal is to identify new approaches for innovative therapies for aggressive lymphomas and to closely align research with clinical practice.
