Understanding the interaction between trees, microbes, and insects: Final conference of the LOEWE Research Cluster Tree-M on November 12 and 13, 2026, in Marburg
In mid-November 2026, LOEWE-Tree-M invites to its concluding symposium at the SYNMIKRO Center in Marburg. Titled "Plant–Microbe–Insect Interactions in Forest Canopies," the event will explore how trees, microbes, and insects influence and shape our forest ecosystems.
Understanding these complex interactions requires an interdisciplinary perspective. The conference brings together experts from the fields of microbiology, ecology, forestry, and geography to examine plant-microbe-insect interactions across various scales – ranging from microbial functions and metabolic processes to the dynamics of microbial communities and herbivory, and ultimately to ecosystem-wide processes.
In addition to distinguished external speakers, the program will feature contributions from members of the Tree-M consortium and the related DFG-funded consortium "PhytOakmeter."
The registration fee is €100 (€30 for Bachelor’s and Master’s students) and covers conference attendance, catering, and the conference dinner.
