Second meeting of the LOEWE-DyNaMo Advisory Board in Kassel – focus on exchange and networking between academia, public administration, and the business sector
On May 28, the second meeting of the advisory board for the LOEWE Research Cluster LOEWE-DyNaMo (“Safe and Sustainable Mobility in the City of Tomorrow”) took place in Kassel. Following a welcome and a brief round of introductions, advisory board members were presented with project results achieved since the start of funding in 2025. This was followed by expert presentations on bicycle safety delivered by members of the advisory board.
Subsequently, Police Chief Inspector Ms. Angersbach provided insights into the day-to-day practice of police-led traffic education for young children. Presentations followed by Dr. Frank Hofmann (Bosch Research) on communication between vehicles, other road users, and traffic infrastructure, as well as a contribution by Jörg Ortlepp (Accident Research of German Insurers) regarding the current situation and potential solutions for pedestrian and cyclist safety. The session concluded with a presentation by Prof. Dr. Hans Steege (Ulm University of Applied Sciences) on liability issues associated with assisted and autonomous driving.
The diverse professional perspectives highlighted numerous relevant aspects of bicycle safety. This led to an engaged discussion and an overall highly inspiring exchange of ideas.
